Convert Hours to Minutes

Each hour has 60 minutes, so to find out the number of minutes in a given number of hours, just multiply the hours by 60.

For example, to find out how many minutes are in 1 day, we can do:

1 day = 24 hours;

24 hours x 60 minutes = 1,440

So we know that there are 1,440 minutes in a day.

Now if you have a time in hours and minutes and you want to know the total time in minutes, you first find the minutes based on the hours and then add the minutes, for example: 45:27 (Forty-five hours and twenty and seven minutes):

45 * 60 = 2,700

2,700 + 27 = 2,727 minutes.
